JACK PINE AND THE FIRE electronic press kit
BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
Nominated at the 2019 JUNO Awards and the 2018 Canadian Folk Music Awards, Jack Pine and The Fire's newest album Left To Our Own Devices explores all our relationships - with ourselves, with each other, and with the earth. Jack hollers and howls like a lone wolf, spitting wry words and tall tales, strumming his mandolin furiously, then softly while The Fire beats their string-band image into the ground. He sings of lost souls and forgotten truths, with lyricism that blends vivid and powerful imagery with dark humour and biting social commentary.
When Jack Pine is joined on stage by The Fire the resulting sound is "driving", "rockin'", and "dynamic". Jack Pine and The Fire features upright bass, Dobro, Mandolin, and Drums – A gritty, groovy alt-folk-Canadiana string band with 5 heavy right hands, haunting harmonies, and all the feels. This is not your grandma's folk band.

Jack talks about his sounds and demonstrates by playing songs that incorporate them, while teaching folks how to be a crowd full of hooting, hollering, music loving beasts! Oh the hoodiis we will hoo!
